10 Things I Hate About Christianity by Jason T. Berggren

10 Things I Hate About Christianity

Working Through the Frustrations of Faith

ABOUT THIS BOOK:

The journey of faith is sometimes marked by moments of disillusionment and anger. This may come as a surprise to many of us who have either been taught or have sought a very different version of faith—one that brings the happy ending, the resolution of conflict, the warm fuzzies.

10 Things I Hate About Christianity records the raw process of my faith over the last 20 years, set against the real-life backdrop of my roles as former rocker, ex-pastor, husband, father of three, and small business owner. I explore many of the wrong expectations that have caused absolute frustration in my life and this journey. But there is good news: this sense of overwhelming dissatisfaction has actually served as a catalyst for personal growth. I have learned, over and over, that positive momentum often begins with negative tension.

From faith and prayer to the brutality of hell and sin, no subject is spared or too sacred. I share in the open the things we all think behind closed doors. I am convinced that many people are moved by the teachings of Jesus. They want to believe. They want to follow. They just get disconnected on some level, and they can’t work through it. My hope is that this book can help people—those that call themselves Christians and those that don’t—understand and get around the common roadblocks of faith. In the process, perhaps readers will also find resolutions to the big questions of life: Why are we all here? What’s it all about? Is there more to all this?

I'd love to read this one. North Point Community Church is where Reggie Joiner from reThink group is from. He was at the COG conference in SC and was fantastic. Out of the box ideas and such.
