Unpretty by Sharon Carter Rogers

My Thoughts:

This was a very interesting book that moved quickly with fast paced action and excitement. Thrillers are not normally my favorite genre of inspirational fiction, but this book delighted me with its twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. If you are looking for a book that will capture your attention, this is sure to be a choice that you will love.

About the Book:

The city of Lehigh, West Virginia, faces the dangerous threat of a sadistic cult intent on ridding the world of all "unpretty" things.

Hummingbird Collins, an aspiring art student, witnesses and is the only survivor of a terrorist bombing of a Michelangelo exhibit at the Conklin Art Gallery. What she does not know is that she has witness the work of the Michelangelus Movement, a cult that kidnaps people and uses them in bizarre artistic experiments, all relating to the artisit Michelangelo. Soon after the bombing, she begins receiving eerie cassette recordings from "26", the madman leader of the cult, about his plan of ridding the world of "unpretty" things.

Unpretty throws the reader directly into the action and does not stop delivering spine-tingling twists and turns until the very last page.

About the Author:

Sharon Carter Rogers is the pseudonym for a former English teacher who now works full time writing fiction. Her debut novel, Sinner, was released in 2007.
